The independent arbitrator ruled in favor of Braun 2-1. The reigning NL MVP was not cleared of using PED's but cleared on a technicality. According to Yahoo! Sports Jeff Passan, Braun's urine sample sat in a FedEx shop over the weekend, challenging the integrity of the sample.
This is the first time in MLB history that a player has won a public appeal against the league. A statement released today shows the displeasure of those in the MLB offices. "...Major League Baseball vehemently disagrees with the decision rendered today by arbitrator Shyam Das."
Braun is pleased to have this episode behind him, "It is the first step in restoring my good name and reputation.
Braun is expected to report to the Milwaukee Brewers camp in Maryvale, Arizona on Friday.
From The Sports Mind Of RB:
I'm totally shocked that Braun's suspension was overturned. It was done on a technicality makes it even worse. Who in the world besides his NL Central rivals want to taint his urine sample? This ruling will not end this conversation, it will only make it worse.
