Running Back Goes Down With A Serious Injury
Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson will miss the season finale next week after tearing the ACL in his left knee after a tackle by Washington Redskins safety DeJon Gomes.
Peterson had rushed for 970 yards this season with 12 touchdowns for the 3-12 Vikings. The Pro Bowler told the Associated Press “I’m trying to stay as positive as I can.”
The rehab process could take a minimum of six months and sources say that his MCL was also torn.
Often called "Purple Jesus" he is one of the most recognizable players in the NFL with endorsement deals from Nike and Gatorade just to name a few.
Peterson signed a 7-seven year deal worth $100 million before the start of the season making him the highest paid ever at his position.
From The Sports Mind Of RB:
To add insult to injury the team sucks, a rookie quarterback is starting and the best player goes down with a significant injury. I wonder how many fans will show up for their home game against the Chicago Bears next week? Over/under a couple thousand anyone?
