NFL Defensive Player Of The Year

Jared Allen, Defensive End for the Minnesota Vikings
Allen truly was one of the lone reasons to watch the Vikings after running back Adrian Peterson went down with an ACL injury. Known for his constant motor and work ethic Allen led the NFL with 22 sacks which is half a sack short of the NFL single season record held by FOX analyst Michael Strahan. Allen who started in all 16 games this season had 4 forced fumbles as well as 66 total tackles.

Darrelle Revis, Cornerback for the New York Jets
Revis has quickly become one of the best cover corners in the NFL. With 4 interceptions and 52 tackles this season he has begun to cement himself as one of the best defensive players in the league too. Guarding the likes of Brandon Marshall, Wes Welker and Dez Bryant to name a few who have been stranded on  "Revis Island." Only one wideout all season caught for more than 100 yards against Revis and he has been named one of the top 100 players in the NFL by the NFL Network.

DeMarcus Ware, Linebacker for the Dallas Cowboys
In another season where much more was expected of the Cowboys but they failed to live up to the hype Ware was a bright spot for the team. Ware this season was second in the NFL with 19.5 sacks and added 2 forced fumbles. He made it extremely difficult for teams not to double team him or have a tight end or running back chip him before they began their routes. Ware was #12 on the NFL Network's Top 100 players of 2011.
