The New York Jets have announced they will be letting go offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer and replacing him with former Miami Dolphins head coach Tony Sparano.

Sparano was 29-32 in 4 seasons with the Dolphins after being hired back in 2008, taking them to their only playoff appearnce in that first year. He was recently let go during this past season as the team was 4-9 before finishing 6-10 and third in  the AFC East.

Schottenheimer consistently facing criticsm for the lack of offensive play calling and what many felt was a regression for quarterback Mark Sanchez. The offense ranked 26th in yards per game, 22nd in rushing yards per game and 10th in points scored in the NFL.

The fallout from an unimpressive 8-8 season that had the team miss out on the playoffs continues. The New York Daily News has reported unnamed sources on the team have questioned the laziness and immaturity of the three-year starter. Center Nick Mangold on twitter said "Man up and put your name to it." Referring to the players who feel so strongly about Sanchez.

From The Sports Mind Of RB:
When it rains it definitely pours because things are really getting bad for the Jets. Guys quitting on the field, players fighting inside the huddle, others questioning whether their quarterback is the real deal. Imagine if this team made the playoffs the bandage that would have been for this somewhat shinking ship. I however have no patience for guys who don't put their name to their quotes. Mangold is right either you speak up or just shut up. One man did  not lose the season for you, the whole team lost the season.
