The Chicago Bulls and guard Derrick Rose have agreed to a contract extension that will pay him $94 million over five years. The deal will go into effect at the beginning of the 2012-2013 season.

Rose, who won the MVP of the league last season became the youngest player ever to do so at 22-year-old. The Bulls won a league best 62 games but fell short after losing to the Miami Heat in the Eastern Conference Finals.

The Chicago product averaged 25 points and 7.7 assists last season enroute to his second All-Star game appearance.

His teammate Carlos Boozer said to the Associated Press "He deserves it. He puts in a lot of effort. I wish the contract was for 10 years.''

From The Sports Mind Of RB:
Rose seems like one of those humble guys who will keep working hard. I have never heard any negative press about him ever and that is rare nowadays.
