This year there are five finalists for the Heisman trophy. Like usual the cast is primarily made up of quarterbacks and running backs but a cornerback cracks the list this year. I will tell you who I think should be this year's winner. The nominees are quarterback Robert Griffin III of Baylor, Trent Richardson running back of Alabama, quarterback Andrew Luck of Stanford, Monte Ball running back of Wisconsin and Tyrann Mathieu cornerback of LSU.
Alabama running back Trent Richardson
Richardson has rushed for close to 1600 yards this season with 20 touchdowns. He has also has 327 receiving yards with three touchdowns. Not only does he play in an SEC conference that is usually rated one of the best if not the best conference in the country but he is also the go to guy on offense. Opposing defenses consistently are set up to stop him and make Alabama more one dimensional. Then you might say how about the game they played against the LSU Tigers this season in which they lost? Well if we go back and look at the numbers he rushed for 89 yards on 23 attempts and 5 passes for 80 yards and if a couple of his kickers made their kicks they would be undefeated and probably the number one team in the country now. Don't forget the Crimson Tide get their rematch against the Tigers in the BCS title game.
