The City Of Brotherly Love Welcomes Back Rollins

The Philadelphia Phillies resigned shortstop Jimmy Rollins to a 3-year $33 million deal and an option for a fourth year at $11 million which could keep him in Philly until the age of 37.

Rollins who was looking for a five-year deal could not muster enough interest in the open market so the decision to come back was made much easier for both sides. On his twitter feed Rollins said "Gotta deal with me for 3 (4) more years!"

Since becoming the team's full-time shortstop in 2001 Rollins has been selected to three All-Star games, won three gold gloves and won the 2007 NL MVP award. In 2008 he led the team to their first World Series in 28 years against the Tampa Bay Rays. He is 134 hits away from 2,000 at 1,866 and ranks in the top five in the franchise for games played, triples, doubles and stolen bases.

From The Sports Mind Of RB:
There is no way Rollins could play in another uniform. Too many players don't stay with the team that drafted them or gave them their first shot and it is cool to see him stay in Philly, even though I am a Mets fan. I love how baseball has become a year long process with signings and trades. The offseason is not even done and it feels like it has gone on for six months already.
