The New Orleans Hornets have agreed to trade guard Chris Paul and a pair of 2015 second round picks to the Los Angeles Clippers for guard Eric Gordon, center Chris Kaman, forward Al-Farouq Aminu and an unprotected 2012 pick from the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Last week a three way trade between the Los Angeles Lakers, Houston Rockets and the Hornets was nixed because NBA Commissioner David Stern as he said today in a conference call "I knew that we were doing the best thing for New Orleans. That was my job." The league owns the Hornets until they can find a viable owner.

The Boston Celtics were reported to have had interest in swapping their point guard Rajon Rando for Paul but those talks broke down after reports surfaced that Paul would not sign an extension with the team.

The four-time All-Star will join the reigning rookie of the year Blake Griffin in LA as they look to turn around a team that went 32-50 last season.

Paul is set to make somewhere in the neighborhood of $16 million this season which will be the last on his current deal. He has averaged over 18 points and 10 assists in six seasons in the NBA.

From The Sports Mind Of RB:
For now we don't have to worry about where Chris Paul is going until he signs an extension with he Clippers or until free agency in the summer of 2012.
