Characteristics of Mental Health Disorders

There are some common symptoms experienced by someone who has mental health disorders. Mental health disorders can also affect physical health.


That is why people with mental health disorders often complain of symptoms that interfere with their lives and work. These symptoms include changes in mood, personality, habits, and withdrawal from the social environment.

In general, the following are the characteristics of a person experiencing mental health disorders:
  • Feeling sad for a long time, sometimes for no apparent reason.
  • Numb or do not care about the environment.
  • Feeling significantly tired, lacking energy, and having trouble sleeping.
  • Often angry excessively and very sensitive.
