Play of The Week

This week's play was a bit unusual in the fact that is has only happened three times in the AL in the past 40 years. Oakland A's rookie Michael Taylor lines what appers to be a single into right field in front of Kansas City Royals outfielder Jeff Francouer. Francouer is known to have one of the strongest arms in the majors but he doesn't get to show off the cannon unless runners are trying to stretch a single into a double, going from second to third or on a sacrifice fly of any kind. Most of the time runners get the memo that you run at your own risk. Well the rookie was hustling down to first but I guess he wasn't running hard enough.

I could not find the video of Francoeur throwing out Taylor but here is a video demonstrating how strong and accurate his arm really is.
