Orlando Sentinel

The Florida Marlins are moving into their new digs the Miami Ballpark and as part of an agreement the name of the team was changed to the Miami Marlins. The team also unveiled their new uniforms last Friday which have drawn criticsm from some and spelling a new era to others. They shared 19 seasons in there old stadium with the Miami Dolphins and it should open in March 2012.

Home ticket sales will get a boost from the new park as it does for many new stadium openings. "It's been all positive," said Marlins senior vice president of marketing Sean Flynn. "People are buzzing about all that has been happening," as he told MLB.com.

The Marlins won two World Series titles in 1997 and 2003.

The Marlins have been bold this offseason making contract offers to free agents Mark Burhle, Jose Reyes and Albert Pujols. The team finished dead last in  the National League East last season. Whether or not the Marlins are able to land these players things are looking brighter in south Florida.

From The Sports Mind Of RB:
Forget about the stadium and the the players they made offers to. Look at those horrendous uniforms. Am I the only one who thinks those should be burned?
