I said to him that since sed team was allowed to use all their downs then it is not a turnover. Also when a team punts the football away it is not considered a turnover so why should this? But of course I had to do some research and what I got was that turnover on downs is considered a turnover just like a fumble, interception and muffed punt. I guess all I had to do was like at it again, "turnover on downs", duh.

A friend of mine asked "How come turnover on downs is not considered a turnover?"
