Meet The Cubs New Manager

One of the first moves for Theo Epstein since taking over as president of the Chicago Cubs was finding a new manager after letting Mike Quade go at the end of the season.

The Cubs didn't go far as they stayed within their division and plucked Milwaukee Brewer's hitting coach Dale Sveum away. This will be the first managerial position for Sveum in the majors since he took over on an interim basis in September 2008 after Ned Yost was fired.

The press conference was held Friday morning to introduce him as the new manger. During which Sveum said "losing is not okay, not running a ball out is not okay."

Sveum was also a coach on the Red Sox staff during the 2004-2005 seasons and managed the Double A affiliate for the Pittsburgh Pirates from 2001-2003 with a record of 213-211.

The 47-year-old played for eight different teams in the majors after being drafted by the Brewers in the first round of the 1982 draft. In 14 seasons he hit .236 with 69 homeruns and 340 runs batted in.

From The Sports Mind Of RB:
All these hires are great for the Cubs and I'm happy everyone is on the same page. But until they prove that they are not the same old Cubs, they are the same old Cubs.
