An Owner Tweets Out, And Gets Fined For It

The NBA has fined Miami Heat owner Mickey Arison $500,000 for comments he tweeted related to the NBA lockout.

Arison when replying to the comments of a fan who was fed up and asked him "...how did he feel about ruining the NBA and fighting over money that the fans provide for the league...? greedy pigs." Arison tweeted "You're barking up the wrong tree." This showed that there is a divide between owners and what they want the players to give back in concessions.

The league has already cancelled all the games for November and there has not been any improvement on talks. The sticking point has been the amount of money the owners and players will divide when it comes to profit sharing. In the last labor deal the players were guaranteed 57% but the owners would like an even split this time around.

From The Sports Mind Of RB:
I don't understand in a league that did so well last year what's so hard in briniging back the product. There are too many stubborn owners and players and they have to realize that this will only hurt them in the long run.
