Tonight at 8pm eastern time the New York Giants travel down to North Carolina to take on the Carolina Panthers. The game is the first for both teams this preseason and both come in with a lot of question marks. The Panthers will start second year QB Jimmy Clausen but he will split time with rookie QB Cam Newton. The Panthers are coming off of a disastrous year last season and are now under the helm of first year head coach Ron Rivera.The Giants who have lost players this season to free agency have not added much to a team that was one quarter away from winning the NFC East last season. Both teams hope this is a step in the right direction.
From the Sports Mind of RB:The only reason I watch the preseason is to make sure none of the players gets injured. The final score does not really matter to me unless your the Jacksonville Jaguars who just got blitzed by the New England Patriots 47-12. The Panthers know this is a rebuilding season and are just testing guys out for the future. The Giants on the other hand or kind of in between rebuilding and competing for a playoff spot and this will go a long way in determining if this is the start to something great or just another long season.
