The Philadelphia Eagles onslaught on free agents this offseason continues as they have just signed fromer New York Giants wideout Steve Smith to a one-year deal worth two million dollars and with incentives.

The 26-year old Smith is coming off of microfracture knee surgery he suffered at the end of last season. Smith says he feels good but does not want to rush things and could be back for Week 1.

This just adds to the plethora of talent the Eagles have assembled in the past two weeks from cornerback Nmandi Asomugha, quarterback Vince Young to just name a few.

Smith will have his work cut out for him as the Eagles receiving core is one of the deepest in the league with deep threat DeSean Jackson, Jeremy Macklin, Jason Avant and second-year player Riley Cooper out of the University of Florida.

From the Sports Mind of RB:

The Eagles really are lookng to dethrone the Green Bay Packers as NFC Champions and are looking for the Super Bowl. Unlike the New York Giants who just seem to be pussyfooting around this whole time. First they cut Rich Seubert and Sean O'Hara, don't sign Plaxico Burress and let Steve Smith go to the NFC East rival. Are the Giants trying to win games or just taking this year off and are lookng towards next year? Eli Manning showed last year that he can't succeed if there is nobody to throw the football too. The Giants probabaly think Hakeem Nicks can break free from double and triple coverage every single time but as much as I like him he is no Superman. Let's get going GM Jerry Reese or this will be a down year for the G-Men.
