Osi Umenyiora is back practicing with the New York Giants. Umenyiora practiced with the team for the first time during this training camp.

In an email to the Associated Press Umenyiora said he still feels disrespected by the team over contract negotiations. The all-pro defensive lineman is set to make 7.1 million dollars over the next two seasons.

Second year player Jason Paul Pierre will probably rotate in and out with Justin Tuck and Osi Umenyiora taking their spots as starters as they bookend the defensive line.

From the Sports Mind of RB:

I wonder if Osi Umenyiora showing up to practice has anything to do with Jason Paul Pierre's monster game on Saturday against the Panthers? Umenyiora realized maybe the team could replace him and have a decent replacement at that. Don't get me wrong with Umenyiora's presence this defensive line is one of the best in the league. The Giants need him because they will have to rely on this unit to get easy scores for an offense that will have problems scoring. GM Jerry Reese, Umenyiora's agent and Umenyiora have to find a way to work this out or just get a trade done. The last thing this team needs is a distraction.
